Report from Leah: Here are my results. This was one of the most beautiful courses I have ever walked! So beautiful, in fact, that I found it distracting. I had to remind myself several times to walk faster; I was paying more attention to the surroundings than my time! The course winds through downtown Monterey then heads through Cannery Row, then continues all along the Bay through Asilomar State Beach, and then back. There was some rain and wind, but it was enjoyable anyway. I highly recommend this race even though you are nowhere near Big Sur as the name would indicate. I do believe the Big Sur Marathon (in April) actually goes through Big Sur. This race does allow you to register as a walker!

Overall Time: 3:01:51
Overall Pace: 13:53
“Water” Pace 12:58 – see below for more info
Time at Mile 7.1: 1:34:31
It’s not my best performance, but I was fighting the gombu all week (and
trying to deny that I was getting sick), but my cold came up and clubbed me
Friday evening, shortly after arriving at my friend’s house in Michigan. So,
while the numbers aren’t great for me, I feel especially satisfied that I
completed the race since it was for Team in Training. (Go Team!) ...
